MANUFACTURING
From Raw Copper to Finished Products
Katam's manufacturing process connects copper processing with the production of copper products, electrical wires and power cables. Each product follows a defined sequence of processing, inspection and finishing stages before it reaches the final stage of packaging and dispatch.
Copper Manufacturing Process
Copper scrap and copper cathodes undergo inspection before entering the melting and casting stage. The resulting copper ingots and billets can be supplied as finished products or taken through further processing to produce different copper forms.
Depending on the product, the material progresses through extrusion, rolling, slitting, shearing, busbar processing, circle blanking, surface finishing and straightening before final inspection and dispatch.

Electrical Wire & Power Cable Manufacturing
Copper ingots and billets produced within the integrated manufacturing system are converted into copper rods and progressively drawn to achieve the required conductor dimensions. The prepared conductors then move through the required cable manufacturing stages according to the cable construction.
Depending on the product configuration, these stages include fine wire drawing, conductor stranding, insulation, inner sheathing, armouring and outer sheathing, followed by final testing, packaging and dispatch.

FROM PRODUCTION TO DISPATCH
Quality Checked. Carefully Prepared. Ready for Delivery.
Once manufacturing is complete, finished copper products and cables undergo the applicable final inspection and testing. Products are then packaged, placed in finished-goods storage, and prepared for dispatch.
